Batman Blog

Here's a color Batman sketch I did in about an hour. Jeff Matsuda's new Batman is pretty damn cool! Of course, so is Jeff! So there you go! Anyway, had fun with it and I may be doing some promo art or something. The job isn't nailed down yet. Regardless, it's always a treat to draw Batman!

Alright! About time some Batman showed up on your blog! Very cool! I'm not as big a fan of "The Batman" as the "Animated Series" or "Gotham Knights", but it's Batman nonetheless!

True That! It's a tough act to follow Bruce Timm and Glen Murakami, but Jeff Matsuda's style was the departure Warner Bros was looking for. I wonder if it will be as successful? Time will tell, I suppose. It's an offbeat Manga-esque style that has a real fun quality to it. I'd love to see a pure Mignola Animated Batman one day...

Nice one Dan, Matsuda's character design I think is something that works great for animation and the New Batman series is a breath of fresh air. Though I wish there were new episodes of JLU airing, that's a great show with mature/intelligent stories.

Legion of Superheroes was just 'greenlighted' by Warner Bros last week so that should be interesting.

MATSUDA DOES INDEED RULE

ONE TIME AT WAS THE SAN DIEGO CON AND MENTIONED TO HIM HOW I KNEW WHERE HE GOT HIS BIG BREAK INTO COMICS FROM

ANYBODY KNOW WHAT THAT IS?

HE GOT HIS BIG BREAK WHEN HE DREW FOR A WIZARD MAGAZINE CONTEST AND HE MIGHT HAVE WON BUT REGARDLESS WHAT MOST PEOPLE WILL SAY ABOUT ROB LIEFELD, ROB SAW IT AND GAVE MATT A JOB AND NOW HE'S DOING GREAT THINGS

Yup. I was there when he walked through the doors at Extreme. He's come a long way!
