Leopard Fortress, anyone?

Background Design work. Or Level Design, if you kindly will. Take your pick because in the fascinating world of Video Game design, they're almost the same thing. How will you define the above illustration? That's up to you now. Good day.

How do I define this? Damn fine artwork, that's how!
Your inking is unreal man.

Thanks Patrick! did you notice the Wally Wood tree? Wally knew Wood!

And Mike, it was for a Dreamworks Video Game from a while back and I honestly don't remember what they ended up calling the game. It went through so many incarnations.

Those leafs look dangerous. I think that I would be stabbed if they fell on me.

RAPPPPPPP: Hate is a strong emotion, be very careful with it! btw, my favorite part is the rickety bridge.

JESSE: The trees in Leopard Ville are as dangerous as the Leopards themselves! Scary stuff!

Let me get this straight... how exactly did the leopards build this fortress? I mean, it looks good. Maybe too good. Too good for leopards, if you know what I mean.

NORM: Anthropmorphic Leopards. Kung Fu Leopards to be precise...! You know how some folks dig on cat-people...? This whole video game uses animals in the way, say, Disney uses animals that walk on their hind legs and talk...
Or, are you saying, in a walky/talky world of humanized cartooned animals - Leopards are simply too stupid to construct buildings?

wow! When are you going to put a book out with all of these? I love looking at this one because there is so much great detail!

Urban Barbarian said...

Thanks Martin! Maybe I'll do a SD Comic Con Sketch Book or something one day... How about you? Any sketch books in the works? That's a book I'd like to see!

Love the composition and the inking and the building and the bridge and the rocks....OK! it's all good. Great stuff Dan!

I just thought it was a name, like Wolf Creek. Oh, well, I should know by now to stop trying to be clever around you.

Good work Dan.

No, Norm, in this case it really was sorta built by Leopards... Welcome to my world!

Thanks Rob, Much appreciated!
