Koo-Koo for Duku!!!

Toy Design! Duku style! These type of toys are called Super Deformed by the industry folk. I wonder why...?

Also- I'm all excited I recieved a Three Thumbs Up Award. Now I have a nifty TTUA icon on my blog and a great bundle of assorted Photoshop Goodies to put to use. Thanks Vonster!

I have been starring at this thing trying to figure out what might make it considered deformed. Then it hit me, I think his head is a bit large.

But I don't know, maybe he has a face growing on his back or something. It's hard to tell with that robe.

JESSE: That could be it... I'll look at it again.

Awesome! SD is a term which rose from Anime and Manga, usually referring to a simplified, bigheaded/small bodied version of a character.

CARLOS - Thanks! Love your digital painted work! Great subject matter! Especially dig the deer portrait.

ZoMBI - Thanks and I was just sort of kidding around about why they call them SD. That huge head sort of gives it away. But thanks for the explanation for those who aren't hip to the skip.

I like that random squiggly line shadow on his face. Congrats on the Three Thumb Award!

Thanks Kristen! That's my favorite aspect of the drawing too. I had to do around 15 of these a day so trusting my first instincts was a key part of getting the job done. Happy accidents!
