When you see the new color cards by guys like Dave Johnson, David Williams and of course Adam Hughes ( I'm thinking about his Star Wars and Indiana Jones cards...! ) you'll know why I decided to color these up. Actually, I had a lot of fun with them by the time I was finished. Heck, maybe even Jeff will post some of his!

Realy nice work Dan. And I love Dave Johnson's work enough to say it twice too! ; )
well, you know I love these!
Ah cards. The memories.
Nice work.
Hi ! I only just made a blogspot, and I stumbled upon your blog. I'm still speechless at your drawings, I love the drink and draw ones.
It's probably been asked a dozen times before, but I was wondering what kind of sketchbook that is you draw on, the brown paper kind of thing? It has an awesome effect in combination with your markers.
Looking forward to seeing more!
CRAIG: Ha!
BRIAN: Thanks! Especially the Thor one, right...? ;)
JESSE: Memories indeed!
CEDRIC: That's great! I'll check it out. The Drink and Draw crew uses Chip Board. Which is basically cardboard backing material. Pretty basic stuff. I've seen sketch books that use recycled paper that has the same nice sepia tone to it though.
those are hot!! that red skull in particular!
Fuckin-A bub! These rock! I've been seeing lot's of people work on these. Is there a template floating around somewhere or are these being commissioned by Marvel?
Your fan,
Ray
RAY: These are commissioned by Marvel on actual tiny cards.
killer man
Dig the chunky sculptural line. your stuff is fantastic.
oh cool these are sweet Dan. Love the style. just found my new desktop BG, they look great lined up like that.
I remember collecting marvel masterpieces as a kid, glad to see the series is still going.
You know, these are actually quite good. Can scarcely believe it.:)
I kid, because that's what I do.
Mark
JERT: Thanks!
JP: Thanks! Years of inking...! ;)
GEORGE: Thanks! I'm surprised at how many artists are doing these one of a kind cards. Art Adams put his first one up on Ebay and it went for $4K...!
MARK: I have my moments. I wish I had more! ;)
Hey Dan, the cards look awesome! How long did you end up spending on each card?
Hopefully I'll be in on one of the next sets too.
Great designs and choice of colors!
KYLE: Looking forward to that post!
TEVIK: Thanks! Much appreciated!
Excellent work man!
Sweet as always. Diggn' the Nick Fury.
Nice sketches man. Are they paying more these days or are you just doing them for fun? I talked to someone doing them a couple years ago and she said they paid like 6 to 8 bucks a card. That wouldn't seem like enough to interest you pros. I guess if you can do like 3+ an hour...
Soem superheroes are gay - Dan's superheroes are constipated! I kid because I love. the Wolvie bottom right is my fav'rit. - mh
...AND IN THE END I FOUND YOU! :D
GREAT WORKS!
STEVE: Thanks!
DOMINIC: Nick is always yelling something!
ODON: It's certainly not much. But Adam Hughes, Travis and Art Adams did some unbelievable ones and then everyone wanted to step up! For shame!
MATT: Damn your insight!
ED: Thanks!
Great style! Love all of them.
sweet, more cards!
what's up with that wolvie in the bottom left?
he's crazy!
CMKXGY: Yup, nutty as can be!!!
Cool!!
Another one of my fave artists!!
